How's your sump pump?

With the snow melting, your sump pump will have to work overtime. Try these tips to help prevent water back-up in your home.

1. Test your sump pump once a month.
   
2. Replace your sump pump if you need to; they usually only last about 7 years.
   
3. Add a battery to your sump pump incase the power goes out. 
   
4. Add an alarm to alert you when the water level is too high. Some security systems will integrate with it to alert you even if you are away from home.
